Audience Research 1 and Analysis
For one of my audience research, I have created a survey on survey monkey. This consisted of 8 questions with a total of 50 respondents.
My questions were:
1)What is your age? Options provided
2)What is your gender? Options Provided
3)What type of music do you like? Options provided including 'other'
4) What magazines would you read? Options provided
5)What do you want to see in a music magazine front cover? Comment box provided
6) How likely is it that you would read a music magazine? Number Scroll provided
7)What would encourage you to buy a magazine? options provided + other section
8)What would you like to see on a double page spread? The artists.... ? Option provided
This was asked as I plan on go on the respondents answers singularly and see per person what their opinion was and if they chose one thing like an artist, does it correlate with their chose of something else like the magazine preference or their gender.
This I asked so any age outlier that doesn't fit in like under the age of 14 or above 18 I could remove or not count theirs. I may also compare the under 14s answers to other ages to see the differences. This will give me an idea of what kind of age group prefers what and if it links to any of their other choices.
I asked this for further information on what the of music is most preferred or is in demand more. This will help me generate and conclude on a final genre for my magazine as I learnt that it got majority votes or there is a deficiency in the amount of magazines produced with that genre.
This will help me as I know that a certain magazine will be read which means its good or people want to rad it. From that I will get inspiration and use it as one of my influences.
I will also understand what magazines are known and which ones are less known to the public.
I chose the scroll option on this and made it a 0 to 100 scale as
1. I believe that in 1-10, its harder to know what they mean and their assurance about it.
2. 1-100 helps me as if they had between 1-50 that they wouldn't read it or not likely. Anything above 50 I took as likely. This gave them a wider option range.
In this question, I included 6 options and a other section. The options are a summary of what I believe would persuade people. It also contains things I would use as articles and if people didn't vote on it or it got minority votes, I would be well aware of what not to include on m front cover.
I asked this as previously, I have not done a double page spread article and I wanted a rough vision of what people would want to read. his helped me understand with what is wanted compared to the amount that is produced as my goal is to create something that there is a deficiency of.

I asked this and left it as comment box as I thought that in a few options, I won't be able to summarise the opinions of all my respondents. Plus, when there is options, out of laziness, they choose one of the options and they also feel bounded whereas if put a comment box, they have to give their own opinion which is genuine compared to my options.
